Racing Strong Motorsports started out in Phoenix, Arizona in 1983.
We started out making small parts for the local mini-truck community.
Then in late 1984 we purchased a new Toyota Corolla GTS with the then
new 4AGE. Within a month we were tearing up the local autox courses in
stock class. In 1985 we moved to the Street Prepared class and did
quite well in SCCA action. 1986 saw us move to the Prepared class with
a carburated 200+hp 4age. We took home many trophies while we raced
throughout the Southwest. 1987 saw us take the Corolla to the first
Pro-Solo at San Diego Stadium. Unfortunately we literally blew up the
gearbox and the resulting spin cause us to send a few thousand cones
flying across the course.
We spent five years in the valley of the sun making small parts for friends and fellow racers. But we had to move on. So back to England we went in 1988. Took a fully Street Prepared Shelby Charger GLHS over with us. Had a great time learning how to make a high powered front wheel car drive fast, and how to get extreme power from an eight-valve high boost 2.2 liter Chrysler power plant. We also learned how to make the extremely weak Chrysler transaxle last under high torque shifting.
Fast forward to 1998 and Racing Strong Motorsports moves back to the Toyota pit with the purchase of the world famous Krylon Special. Painted with the cheap but very powerful cans of paint, this 1986 Toyota MR2 went from a reddish pink hunk of rust to a track day king powered by a high compression twin Weber carburated 4A-G 16-valve developing 190hp. The Krylon recently received a power plant upgrade, it is now powered by a 400hp Cadillac Northstar V8.
Today we are located at the foot of the Blueridge Mountains in Central Virginia. Piney River, Virginia is the new home of Racing Strong Motorsports. We also own

Our current projects include the Purple 1986 MR2 using a four-throttle 200+hp 4A-GE. Using the parts from some of the top 4AGE race suppliers and our own home grown RSm parts, this car will make for a great track day car, fast and reliable!
